Meet Rahkim

Rahkim is the author of the book “Financially Irresponsible”, founder of the publication “Overcoming Financial Trauma” and the accompanying podcast, and a financial coach who focuses on the intersection between financial literacy and financial trauma as a barrier to financial empowerment. He spent 10 years in the banking industry before “Firing his boss” to pursue entrepreneurship full time.

Rahkim has written for, and has been quoted in many of the large publications in circulation including Forbes, Business Insider, Black Enterprise, The Grio, Entrepreneur, Money.com, Parents, BET, Time, MSNBC, and more.

He’s had appearances on the Tamron Hall Show, TEDx Hartford, The Bigger Pockets Money podcast, and many other podcasts of various sizes that you can find on Spotify or Apple Podcasts by searching “Rahkim Sabree”.

He’s The Real Deal

  • Rahkim is a certified financial education instructor (CFEI®), and Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®)

  • 10 year retail banking industry veteran

  • TED speaker

  • Author

  • Coach

On the topic of blending the worlds of money and mental health, Rahkim believes it’s crucial to embrace a student’s mentality while acknowledging the power of shared experiences. Rahkim grew up in Mount Vernon, NY experiencing aspects of poverty that he embraced as being part of his future or in his words, “Aspiring to be poor”. After being exposed to financial education and working in the banking world he was able to expand his worldview on what’s possible for him and purchase a home before the age of 30. Rahkim was recognized as one of Business Insider’s top coaches for 2020.

You are not alone!

As someone who has struggled both with money and mental health, Rahkim can share the successes and failures that give vocabulary to the thoughts, feelings, and experiences you or someone you know may be going through. Sign up and think about it later. You can always unsubscribe, but why would you?
