Not opening mail, overspending, and avoiding debt collectors can be more than just irresponsible behavior. For many, these behaviors are rooted in financial trauma that goes back generations. Overcoming this trauma, and the shame that often co-exists, can be difficult. Equipped with the right know-how, CFP® professional volunteers can help their clients notice and put an end to financial behaviors that are rooted in trauma.
